Mid-Winter Vacation #2

Today I had a much better day than yesterday, (see Gabby's blog for a very detailed version of yesterday) it was much warmer, making it much more enjoyable, (18 degrees without windchill and 3 degrees with windchill) and we got to on "Snowsnake," a blue trail that Gabby and I have been waiting to go on. Now let me tell you the bad news and the really bad news. When we were on the "Log Jam" obstacle course, this kid Ben who was in our group got his skis stuck in one of the jumps, and then he flipped over on his head but his ski that was stuck, and never came off. So then, his leg was stuck in a really awkward position for 3 minutes, he was unconscious! Once the instructor noticed him, she called "Ski Patrol" and 15 people came down the hill, 2 with stretchers. It took them 20 minutes to get him on the stretcher and into the hospital, still his eyes were closed. Then our instructor went into the hospital and didn't come out so we had to have a new instructor who bailed on us so then we had another instructor. I have to say, it was a scary day but we all survived.
